Yoga Rave is a party like none other in the world, a new concept in fun where the body responds only to the stimulation of music, yoga & meditation. The initiative sprang forth from the Art of Living Foundation, the largest volunteer-run NGO in the world. Just like the rest of the Foundation’s initiatives, the motive is non-profit. The money raised goes to bring yoga, meditation, and stress reduction to university campuses and young professionals in need through the YESplus workshop. The Yoga Rave Project will bring the spiritual element back to celebration and the way we have fun, offering a drug free alternative for our youth to gather and release their energy and tension. In the words of Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, “from the intoxication that depletes the energy to intoxication that brings enlightenment”. We envision a new wave of entertainment for young people, based on nothing but music and our mind to create an atmosphere of natural enthusiasm, celebration and joy. Our vision is to create a movement that will support all people to come together in deeper connection and celebration, without the fallout. All proceeds will go to support stress reduction for youth and prisoners around the nation.
Yoga Rave was born as a healthy & balanced yet fun alternative. While singing & dancing along to mantras, one feels true energy, joy & enthusiasm that come from within, not as a result of something external. To achieve this experience it’s necessary to be in an environment free of drugs, alcohol & smoke.
At the party one can enjoy both music & silence. It all begins with some Yoga to warm up the body & continues with an easy guided meditation that leaves attendees in the ideal state to hear So What Project!’s opening chords & slowly begin connecting with the music. At the end of the night there is another meditation. The party, which lasts 4 hours, is accompanied by a bar offering exotic & energizing drinks that are completely alcohol-free plus gourmet vegetarian food.
So What Project! (Nicolás Pucci & Rodrigo Bustos) is in charge of the music. The duo presents an integral way of conceiving & creating music, based on vibrations & thousand-year-old mantras combined with electronic beats in addition to a wide variety of other musical styles.
The band was formed in order to provide the Yoga Rave parties with music. They launched their first album, "Smile" in November 2009, & just finished their second album "Blossom," this past winter. Their songs are heard all over the world, they participate in numerous festivals & their tracks are sold overseas through the Internet (Amazon, iTunes, emusic, among others)
